ERIC HARVIE BA 1986 LLB 1992

Eric Harvie B.A. L.L.B. is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and opened his law office in Banff in 1995. Over the last 20+ years he has built a law practice that, by design, adds value to his business clients operating in a tourism-based economy. In addition to providing legal services for corporate law and commercial transactions, Eric provides legal advice on the host of unique laws and regulations applicable to business operations in the Bow Valley, with an emphasis on the federal laws in Banff National Park. He believes a competent business lawyer must be both a critical and strategic thinker for the client.

Eric resides in Banff, is married with two children and is active in outdoor recreation and community volunteer projects.

SARAH JONES BA 2012 JD 2015

Sarah Jones practices real estate, corporate, wills and estates, and residential tenancy law. Although her practice is not limited to Banff, her experience navigating the unique legal issues that arise in a town subject to federal and national park regulation provides a distinct benefit to locals.

After graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours), Sarah obtained her Juris Doctor at the University of Victoria, where she worked in two legal clinics advising clients on corporate law, residential tenancy disputes, and criminal proceedings. Her undergraduate thesis (a scientific paper on a stroke research experiment she conducted) and her law school thesis (a case review relating to estate planning) have both been published. She joined Eric Harvie Professional Corporation as an articling student in 2015 and was called to the Alberta bar in 2016.

Sarah’s passion for law is matched by her love of the outdoors. When not in the office, Sarah enjoys spending her time exploring the mountains, hiking or snowboarding. She is also actively involved in the community as a skater for the Lady Macs (Bow Valley Roller Derby), and various volunteer boards.

For information on real estate, corporate law, estate planning, or residential tenancy, please do not hesitate to contact Sarah Jones.

The best time to consult a lawyer is before you take action, so that your first steps are the right steps.
